Master of Ceremonies Training 2014 – Why Train?

Last year I completed the first tier of master of ceremonies training. I am one of just a handful of UK DJ’s who have undertaken specific training to further fine tune the skills and technique it takes ensuring that the weddings I have the privilege to host are not only seamless but also entertaining and unique.

I am delighted to announce that I have made a firm commitment to further my career and training – booking my place at the 2014 Silver Marbecca Master of Ceremonies course in May 2014.

These courses are the renowned worldwide as the best available – furthermore there are only 8 places on this course throughout the UK, so it really is a privilege to be part of it once again.

Thousands of DJ’s operate throughout the UK entertaining on a weekly basis at various functions from Christenings to Weddings – yet only a handful believe that training is beneficial not only to make them better at what they do – but ultimately ensures that your function is the best that it can be. Keeping your guests entertained, informed and engaged at all times.

Every job in the world requires some form of training whatever it may be – yet in the entertainment industry anyone with no qualifications or experience can set themselves up and advertise to be YOUR wedding DJ. Would you want an unqualified builder to build you an extension on your house? or a part time hobbyist plumber installing your boiler? I very much doubt it, but on the most important day of your life - your choice of DJ will either make your day memorable for the wrong reasons, easily forgotten or hopefully memorable for the right reasons.

Only an experienced DJ can ensure your wedding is memorable for the right reasons.

On a weekly basis I receive text messages, email and phone calls from frantic Bride and Grooms saying ”Are you available on xxxx, we have been let down by our DJ” After a brief conversation it usually transpires that they have usually chosen a budget DJ, with no paperwork or contact to back up the booking.

Securing an amazing venue, chair covers, decoration, will all go to absolute waste if you do not have the right entertainment to bring your wedding to a close.

“A wedding without quality entertainment is nothing more than an expensive meal”

If your guests feel disengaged they will leave early leaving your wedding reception to end in a fizzle and not the amazing big finish with your friends and family with you at the end wanting the party to continue. End your day with a bang and not a fizzle!

It’s the small differences that make the biggest impact. Keeping your guests informed and engaged throughout the day will ensure that they will want to stay with you throughout the evening – celebrating with you before you embark on your journey in married life.

My fee’s are certainly not the cheapest you will find. My fee’s are open and very clear. I do not have a “I will need to speak to you first policy” and make a price up on the spot. All my prices start from £600 for an evening only reception and rising to £1050 for the complete day including the wedding ceremony music, master of ceremonies, wedding breakfast and evening reception.

Then there are many extra enhancements that you may wish to add to enhance the “WOW” factor of your wedding.

I am more expensive because your event is worth it and requires it. As a percentage of the budget, it’s not out of line. As a percentage of the responsibility for success, it’s a bargain.

All of my past clients knew they could have chosen a cheaper option, but decided not too after meeting me. My attention to detail and the level of commitment and professionalism in ensuring your wedding is a success is second to none.

I am a Trading Standards approved business, member of the National Association of Disc Jockeys, member of the Wedding DJ Alliance, all equipment is fully tested (P.A.T.) and hold 10 million pounds public liability insurance – for reassurance I also have both RAC and AA breakdown cover – I have NEVER missed an event since I started in 1986.

A great question to ask a prospective DJ is “what can you do to make our wedding unique” if the answer has anything to do with music then really they are not the kind of operator who can ensure the success of your event.

I have lots of ideas how together we can make your wedding absolutely breath-taking - and if you want to know more, please do not hesitate to contact me or get a no obligation quote.  I would love the opportunity to meet you personally to discuss your wedding – therefore I offer a no obligation consultation to ensure that after listening to your requirements, I can deliver to exceed your expectations. If I feel that I can’t do this, I will put you in contact with another specialist that I know can make your wedding a resounding success.

If you’re still not convinced that a wedding specialist is worth every penny – please take a look at my testimonials page
